Dear Hilltoppers:
It is my honor to announce the transition of Dr. Martha Sales from Interim Dean of Students to Dean of Students for WKU. Dr. Sales has served effectively and proficiently as our Interim Dean of Students since July of 2021. Effective April 1, 2022, Dr. Sales will be the next Dean of Students for our university. The Dean of Students is a historic role within the institution and serves as the advocate of students and the conduit for students to the Administration.
Originally from Franklin, KY, Dr. Sales is no stranger to WKU. She has earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work with a Minor in African American Studies. Additionally, she earned a Master of Arts degree in Counseling in Marriage and Family, an Educational Specialist Degree in Student Affairs, a Women Studies Graduate Certificate, and a Doctor of Educational Leadership all from WKU. Dr. Sales commitment and contributions to WKU are significant.
Dr. Sales is the embodiment of the Hilltopper Spirit and tradition. She has continuously served as the Executive Director of WKU’s Intercultural Student Engagement Center and TRIO programs and taken on the additional responsibility of filling the Dean of Students role after the retirement of her predecessor Dr Lynne Holland. Her tireless efforts and commitment to our institution and you, our students, is exemplary and profound.
