It's almost time for your student to renew their on-campus housing for 2025-2026! Housing Renewal occurs February 24-March 31. 

During Housing Renewal, students get to choose if they want to stay in the same room, choose a roommate, and/or select a different room on campus for next year. 

Please note: all full-time undergraduate students are required to live on campus for two years. Some exemptions apply. Learn more

Encourage your student to attend their floor meeting, which will be scheduled by their Resident Assistant for the week of February 24-28. By attending a floor meeting, students are entered to win 1 of 10 chances to receive priority housing selection (which means they get to be first in line to pick their room). 

Housing Renewal happens in two phases. 

Phase 1: February 24-28: Students will login to the WKU Housing Portal to do the following: 

• Update and verify personal information 
• Select the option to stay in the same room for 2025-2026 - this holds their same spot for next year. Students still have the option to choose a new hall/room during phase 2. It's not a bad idea to go ahead and select the same room, just in case their first choice for a new room doesn't work out. Please note - some students do not have the option to choose the same room, as some spaces are held for first year students only, or other special circumstances. 
• Option to choose a roommate 

Phase 2: March 10-31: Students will receive an email notifying them of exactly when they can select a new room

• Select a new room - the WKU Housing Portal will show students every available space on campus, and students will select and assign themselves to a room for 2025-2026. Students can change their room assignment as often as they like through March 31. 
• Add a roommate
• Join a hall waitlist - if all spaces are full, students can join a waitlist that will be used AFTER housing renewal closes on March 31. Pro-tip: if the room your student wants is not available, have them check back daily through March 31. As students reassign themselves to different spaces on campus, rooms begin to open up. The waitlist only goes into effect after March 31.
